Holy cow. I read this quote last night and it just STUCK to my brain like a magnet.

"Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place."~Kurt Vonnegut

This is brilliant. BRILLIANT! Be soft.... Be soft... you can still be aware, have a backbone, have a new reality and a new set of glasses, but you can still be soft and sweet and you can still, indeed, find beauty in the world.

It is all around us.

It is in the air of the season. It is in the laughter of our friends. It is in the smiles of our children. It is in the love of family. It is the warmth of our homes. It is in the health of our bodies. It is in the simple joys of life.

Beauty exists. Never forget that. Try not to be hardened. Try a little harder to be a softer, even more gentle and graceful version of you- especially when it's so easy to be calloused and bitter (yes, I am nudging myself here). Cool it. Cool it way down.

Be soft.

A perfect way to end such a week.

Love you all!

  1. I have been so busy this week, but I wanted to let you know I have LOVED each post this week! I look forward to reading you every day!!

    Love, L

  2. WOW! that went straight to my heart/arteries/veins! I got to keep this in mind. Thanks for sharing!

    Have a nice weekend! :)

  3. Love this :) It reminds me of a quote by Margaret Nadauld: "The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity."
