Christmas Spirit

Image

Today after I pick up Little Dude from preschool, we are going to get all warm and fuzzy and let the holiday spirit begin. Yes, the Christmas tree is going UP! It seems a little early for me, too, but when I told Little Dude last night, he cheered with enthusiasm WoooooHooooooo!

So! We are doing it!

Ever since I can remember, we always put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. It was tradition. My mom and I would blast Gloria Estefan's Christmas tape and dance around while we ever so delicately decorated our 1990's style tree in all shades of pastel. I always looked forward to and loved that day. So much cheer in the air.

Hopefully I can create some of the same enchanted memories for my buddy today. I think we'll do hot cocoa, music and maybe even make some white chocolate dipped gingerbread cookies... mmmmmmm... I have the BEST recipe ever. Seriously!

**When do you put up your Christmas tree? Are you an early bird or late bloomer?

p.s. and while I was looking around Pinterest last night, I found some really FUN holiday recipes!

  1. I agree. You do have the best gingerbread cookie recipe. :)

We usually put up our Christmas decor the weekend after Thanksgiving - I'm all about the anticipation of it, so I force myself to wait. :) But I love it when other people put their decor up earlier so I can enjoy it!

  2. I always put mine up before Thanksgiving! I think orange and brown are so gloomy in my house. I love the red twinkling lights on my tree, and the beautiful Christmas music playing. It just brings the spirit into the home. I totally remember your pastel tree growing up :) and don't leave us hanging, we want your cookie recipe!

  3. This year, my sister and I started decorating our house last September. Yes....last September...you can really feel that Christmas is just around the corner at the beginning og "BER" months... :)

  4. Ahhhh! I love the magic of Christmas. The first two years we were married, i put the tree up November first. The third, i was ginormous pregnant and then had a newborn so it didn't go up until the week before Christmas. This year, sadly I'm not sure we will have a big tree. We live in a tiny apartment and have an overly curious 1 year old. I'm tempted to buy a tiny one and put on the filing cabinet because its the only place she can't reach!

  5. Hooray for holidays and Christmas cheer! We are planning on putting ours up tonight too but it depends on my energy level. Haha! Christmas is my favorite!
